whats bring in a poly relationship like?

What’s being in a mono relationship like?I don’t like that there’s this diametric imposed, this suggested othering about the whole thing. I honestly never think about being in a poly relationship except when the fact that it’s ‘different’ is brought up.That all sounds very hostile though. To answer your question more diplomatically, it’s just like any other relationship. You communicate wants and needs with your partner, they communicate theirs, rules get made and consensus is achieved. My wants and needs have always included a lot of people. My boyfriend is cool with that, and it doesn’t disrupt any of his wants or needs. That’s the basics without getting into my backstory or queer theory or anything, but you’re welcome to keep inquiring anon.

I think, and again I understand the broadness of the query, that I'm looking primarily for things that are commonly subject to parody and homage. Things that people know even if they don't know what it's from that have gotten around through cultural osmosis.
