The glowing man was standing over Yuli's body when Krigar turned, hearing her friend fall. The man pulled the mask from his face as the glow died down, watching Krigar as she watched him back, both arms blades up to the elbow. A moment passed before he held up a hand.
"I am not here to hurt you."
"Und him?" Krigar motioned to Yuli with a blade. "Hyu hurt him."
"Just enough for him to fall unconcious. His head will hurt later, that is all. I am here to talk."
"Dhen do so quickly. Hy don't appreciate hyu assaultink him." They eyed each other for another moment, Krigar waiting for an attack and the man simply watching her, before he spoke again.
"I am an avatar, but my time is past and I need to find a replacement. I've been.. watching you for a time, and your friends, and you seem to fit what I am looking for."
Krigar closed her eyes, concentrating on the man. His soul seemed like it had another attached to it. She didn't know much about avatars, but that seemed like the best explanation for it. "Hyu vant me to become an avatar for a god hy don't know?"
"A good god. All he wants is to protect. Seems to be the same goal you have, especially around your black-haired friend. And he can help you."
"Hy don't need help," she said hesitantly. She could.. maybe use it to protect her friends. right? "Vhat.. can hyu god do?"
"You can heal, use invisibility and these constructs.. Probably more with the training you seem to have. Theo's been watching you also, he seems to think I picked the right person."
"Theo?"
"One of His names. Theo Svet, Lord of Light.. I've spent hundreds of years protecting humans.. Its someone else's turn. You're younger than I was, you'll have plenty of time to grow into this, learn, expand on things I've done, make us.. him better." He motioned to Yuli. "He is.. mostly unharmed, and I regret what I did. But he is living. And you can use this. You are the best person I've found. Use it. To protect him and the boy, and the vampire. The fae. Your demon.."
"Vhat.. vhat do hy need to do?" The man fidgeted with his hand before holding out a simple band of gold.
"Due to the circumstances of my joining, the power is bound to this ring. Mostly. I did not have to keep it on myself, so long as I knew it was safe. As long as its whole, you're fine."
"Hy need to tink about dhis.. Vhat if hy don't vant it?"
"Then Theo will tell me and I will come for the ring." He stepped closer, handing the ring to her. Krigar looked it over.
"All dhis holds dhe power of a god?" she asked, looking up. The man was gone, and her friend was conveniently waking up. "Yuli? Lets.. skip huntink. Take hyu home to Alek."
An hour or two later found her alone in her room, somewhat waiting for Caligo. She wanted to talk to him.. but curiosity got the better of her, and she slipped the ring on. She began to glow, and it burned on the inside. She cried out once before passing out. If anyone looked in on her, they'd find a blonde in the brunette's room..
