Dagr was just about to make his move, when he was suddenly deafened by the shriek in his ear. Dazed and staggered, the Hulder stumbled to the side, clutching his ringing ears as he struggled to right himself again. It was too late, though- the kids had already taken off, the scream scaring them all far more than the spooky stories they’d been sharing had, leaving Dagr growling as he glared around for the source of the sound.
Cindy really wished she thought out her plans more but here she was, hoping that whatever this man was, he wouldn’t notice the floating clothes near him. Maybe she could back up? She slowly crawled back, until her the heel of her sneakers snapped a twig in two; the noise feeling much louder than it probably sounded. “Fuck.” She popped up fast, booking it towards the bush to grab her bat and hopefully outrun this asshole.
