(askatweesterandraven) Ray enters the Shiver City library, the relief of the warmth overtaking him, as he is not used to cold temperatures. He pulls out a large, mysterious book out of his cape and holds it as he searches around the library. The raven continues to look around until he sees Claire. He approaches her with determination despite the twist in his stomach from anxiety. "Pardon me, miss, but do you know who the head of the library is?"
Claire jumps a little, letting out a duck-like noise and nearly dropping the book she was holding in her arms as she swirls her head around to meet the eyes of the young raven-haired boy. He was of the Raven species, and she was surprised to find one of his kind all the way out in the Shiver region; as she knew this was not their natural dwelling. She briefly worried for the boy, thinking he must be freezing in the sub-zero climate, but remembered her manners and the words of people whom had told her that babying strangers does not always bode well. deciding that she could concern over his well-being after having at least a civil conversation, she re-gathered her composure and gave the young boy a soft smile, and placed the book she had been clutching onto the trolley beside her.
“Ah, th-the head librarian just so happens to be me, my dear. Was there something I could perhaps help you with? Were you searching for a specific type of reading material?” She had hoped she hadn’t jumped to conclusions with assuming he was looking for a specific book, it would be terribly embarrassing if that was the case. Not to mention how impolite it is to assume things about a person. However, she kept these thoughts to herself and kept her polite, soft smile up regardless.
