About that thing you said on the Transthetics post: I know it can be endlessly frustrating. I'm eyeing one of their products, and it sucks at how expensive they are. That being said, they need to make it to that expensive to cover the cost of materials and to pay their workers a fair wage. Labour costs money too, and they would go bankrupt if they didn't price them the way they do. I can tell you now, none of the people making these as getting rich off of it. Have a good day/evening!
[Context ^]
Alright but think how much more they would profit if they made the products affordable? If you know anything about economics you know that something well made can cycle over into profit from mass purchase. There’s a reason their tumblr posts get like 5 notes each, because people know these fools are just trying to milk desperate trans men into feeling more valid by buying their frankly unremarkable packers, when they can get the same shit for way cheaper anywhere else. I believe they’re actually going to lose money because a minority of a minority; affluent trans people; are not going to keep their heads above water.
Why do you think jasper sucks—? Anything in particular, or..? I hope this doesn’t sound rude— just curious!
Because he’s got no character depth other than he’s nice, died, and played pogs
What's the difference between Kins and IDs if you don't mind me asking?
To be kin is to not only relate and project yourself, but to feel a connection with the character. This character isn’t literally you and you’re most definitely aware that you are not actually this character, but the connection is strong enough that the character, in a way, becomes an extension of your personality and self. It can give you a sense of stability when it comes to your identity.
IDs are far more intense than kintypes. IDs are usually an intense (AND HEALTHY) coping mechanism to give a person something to define themselves. Most people who have IDs suffer from mental illness which disturb the identity such as psychosis, dissociative identity, or borderline personality. IDs help a person to find out what their identity is and they often find this in fictional characters, therefore helping themselves remain grounded and may even help with anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.
