A lil back-story: I 1st got involved with donating at CHLA because of my friends at PCB Productions telling me about a lil boy named Nicolas that had #Cancer and had been in the hospital for almost a calendar year and was needing blood transfusions and platelets. I wasn't his EXACT type, but me giving platelets was made on his "behalf". I gave one day and I took the boy a gift, I believe a kids book, and met him and his mother in the kids ICU. He was in good spirits but weak ;( A lil over a year later, I saw the same boy (my wife actually did) and his parents. He was energetic and having kid fun. The medical process had worked, plus a lot of prayer. I then felt obligated, called, required to help when & where I could. AND my own son had a major femur bone break on New Years Day 2011. The ENTIRE medical staff put me and my family at ease (I felt so powerless) and performed a non-surgical procedure that has my son running, doing gymnastics and Kempo today ;) #WeRememberYouRaul #WeRemeberYouLily #TheAskTanInitiative #1PintCanSave3Lives #askCHLA
