God working at a diner was a nightmare. People were rude and impatient and left lousy ass tips, and more often than not they were drunk, wandering in at the middle of the night demanding coffee and eggs.

Still. Never say Taylor threw in the towel just yet. After arriving to her shift late one night, she put on a smile and went to take a few orders from regulars before stopping at a table where a stranger was sitting. “Hey there, welcome to Ma’s Diner,” she said. “Can I get you anything?”
