Flimsy! TCAF book review

So while at TCAF I picked up “Flimsy’s Guide to Modern Living” and “Flimsy Kitten’s Party Puzzle Book” (Which i really picked up because it was cute, not realizing it was puzzles =P But i loved it anyway!) Both by Rachael Smith. 

First of all Rachel was super friendly and very fun to talk to at her table, she came all the way from the UK for TCAF! 

Flimsy is a very adorable, funny kitten who gives advice, drinks wine and has parties. I really loved Flimsy’s Guide, the advice is all very sound and presented in a very fun way. I laughed my way through the whole comic! saying at several points “oh, this is SO me” or shaking my head at silly Flimsy.

The Puzzle book is very cute as well. Puzzles and word searches are a little kiddie but still fun! Made me grin at the end of a LONG day.

New Book! (and a knitted Flimsy!)

So I got the first sample copy of the new Flimsy book 'Ask Flimsy', and it looks great - the colours have come out really nicely! (All photos by Adam Cadwell).

Some details:

Full colour, 40 pages. Limited to 300 copies, each book is hand-numbered, hand-signed AND hand-sketched in.

I also did an example sketch on the sketch page so you guys could see what sort of thing size/detail-wise I'd be drawing for you:

Cute, huh? I should be getting the whole order later this week so I can start getting them ready for sending preorders out on the 10th November. Remember, there are only ever going to be 300 of these babies so if you wanna make sure you get your hands on one - ORDER HERE :)

After that I'll be debuting the books at Thought Bubble Festival on the 15th November. (If I have any left...D:)

Also - my amazing Auntie KNITTED me a little Flimsy! OMG!!!

I've been looking into getting Flimsy plushies made, but haven't got very far with it. A lot of people have asked me about them though. If you would be interested in buying a Flimsy plushie why not email me (rachael(at)rachaelsmith(dot)org) and say so? If I get enough interest I'll make time to look into it properly, and I'll make sure you're the first to know about it if I do :)
