Marble Halls (Fae M!A)

Sophie had avoided the city for the entire day.

The previous night, she had slept under the trees by the lake. Somehow, she had been unable to move farther away from the human civilization than the little glade. Something seemed to keep her there: an empathetic link to this place, perhaps?

No, the feeling in the pit of her stomach reached out to the human dwelling, trying to draw her into it. It was something she had been fighting all day. It was going to drive her insane if she let it.

With a sigh, she picked herself up and made her way into the town, making sure to use her powers to hide her wings.

She narrowed her eyes at the humans as they passed--busy, noisy creatures with no sense of their surroundings.

Someone called out as she passed a row of houses, but she ignored it. A human couldn't be talking to her--surely, they couldn't even see her right now. With another exasperated sigh, she turned to resume her walk back to the lake.

“Jamie!” Sophie made a grab for the poor cat as she went by. A pitiful mew left the kitten’s mouth. “Just because you passed exams last year doesn't mean you get to show off. ...You'll scare her!”

Sophie is of a high position in the Fey society, and is being trained to be a ruler. This includes schooling in mannerisms, ways of speaking, walking, etc.

Her father, Rory Bennett, was a Fae nobility. He ran away at some point in his young life to marry Mrs. Bennett. When he did, his blood was passed down into his two children. (This is the reason Sophie sees spirits so easily, even ones who are cloaked (theseasonlords, etc), as it's a power she gained from her father.) He left soon after Sophie was born, having been tracked down and called back into the fairy realm. 14 years later, he dies--far too young for a Fae. The remainder of his powers are transfered into Jamie and Sophie.

The Fae move much more fluidly than humans, seeming to float over the ground. They are skilled in illusionary magic and strongly connected to the forest and lands around them. Therefore, their appearance reflects this, only wearing natural clothing and using rather than abusing the land.

Dancing is a sacred art and passion for them.

They are adverse to Iron (it's poison to them).
