May I present to you...

The Patchwork Prince, Kai!

(story below the cut)

After I failed to dye his hair blue, I was tempted to buy a new wig to replace it after cutting off his hair. Though... after thinking for a long time, I decided to not only keep his hair, but I also decided to start a newer project to give Kai the TLC after all that hair torture he's been through. (And he definitely deserves it... The poor doll...)

So, the idea of Kai becoming a princely looking doll of sorts had been formed after making the cloth wig, but I also thought... "Give him a patchwork aesthetic. That shit will be fucking CUTE-" (At least to my tastes... My mind just raced with inspiration with him...)

During the procedure of creating him, I kept thinking of a childhood dream, a homemade doll aesthetic, those movies or shows I remembered that starred dolls being brought to life and the owner has adventures with the doll. And of course... a hint of nostalgia for wanting to have a doll like him, with the addendum for the dream of having my own custom doll.

So... I feel all of that's finally achieved for the final result, the pictures you see above. I believe that after the hair fiasco, I gave him a lot of character and the love he deserves. I included the sun since that's what his black shirt was when he first came in the mail, and I think it's a perfect representation of how I imagined his personality. Sweet, adventurous, and of course... courteous and princely.

I tried dyeing Kai's hair once more, but unfortunately the dye stained his face. I researched a few cleaning tips and most of them say to either get a magic eraser, baking soda, acne cream (but it's known to melt vinyl and plastics over time so I probably won't use that) or use hydrogen peroxide (de-yellowing, but how do I do that but with blue stains??)

Overall, the project was a failure. His hair will remain white.
