I would love to hear your design process :0 ur character designs are very cool, and seeing your previous redesign compared to your new ones is such a delight ( to be clear i adore both, its a "yay, two cakes!" Situation for me)

omg thanks so much!! as for my design process ill try my best to keep it short lmao

for charlotte's new design I wanted her to have an "edgier" look to her to reflect her attitude. there's a lotta spikes and rips in her design to because of that; i basically just tried to make her look more like a delinquent lmao. her piercings also lean into that, I think she probably snuck out to get them done when she was particularly pissed at sigmund for one reason or another lol. her colors got changed up simply cuz I didnt like the old colors tbh. i added a light yellow accent to make her color pallete look more like a fire? its more noticeable in her hair I think, I tried to make it look a bit like the ends are glowing like a hot flame.

side note: a shared trait among all the belrose sisters, they all have glowing pupils and fangs! since their dad was the dragon gym leader I thought it'd be neat if they all had somewhat draconic looking features :3

for laura I wanted her outfit to look more formal and put together compared to her sisters. id like to think she kinda dresses a bit like a grandma but like, a fancy grandma lol. her big sun hat was added purely for vibes cuz I thought she'd look cute in one tbh. and the flowers on her hat are meant to be azaleas! I read somewhere that azalea bushes were thought to be portals to the fairy world? not sure how true that is but I thought a flower like that would fit well for laura. aside from that the closed eye look I gave her was just another vibe based thing, I think since she shares the same draconic looking eyes as her sisters she might try and hide them as to not scare people

saphira is definitely the one I have the most to say about, and also was by far the hardest to redesign lmao. I hc the belrose sisters to be half japanese so I wanted saphira's design to take inspiration from that. I think her kimono in particular used to belong to her father and was one of the few things she was able to salvage from the fire, which is why its so torn and weathered.

the mask she wears was something I thought of like halfway through designing her. I thought it'd be interesting if she was seen as a bit of cryptid to the people of reborn, while shes strong and can protect her people they still fear her in a way yknow? I dont think she would really care if people see her as some monster to be feared, if it ment protecting the people she loves she would become the monster the people think she is without hesitation. so the mask is ment to be a physical representation of that, its made to make her look more imposing while hiding who she really is underneath

nico used to live in reborn when he was a kid and was around when the earthquake happened, which ended up killing his parents oops. he ended up living in the slums for most of his life

I wasn't joking about him killing a guy when he was 15 thats very much a thing he did 😭 it was a botched robbery attempt where the guy tried to fight back and he just kinda panicked and like. killed him with a pipe. he snuck on a train and left the reborn region after that cuz he was paranoid about getting caught

hes such an asshole cat of a person. worst protagonist to ever be chosen. gods least favorite solider. he doesnt even wanna be helpful to people hes just doing it out of obligation because he has nothing better to do

I think he actively ragebaites people (mainly fern because hes an easy target) However in turn he easily gets ragebaited by cain. he cant stand his ass. he wants to kiss him and punch him in the face at the same time
