Half Squid, Half... Koopa?

Anyone who knew Shelly would know that Halloween was far and away the koopa’s favorite holiday. Elaborate costumes called for elaborate cosmetics, which allowed the stylist to really flex her skills on clients who came to her for help making their ideas come to life. And, of course, there was trying out the wildest costume ideas on herself, often pushing her outside her usual comfort zones, but with amazing results. Yes, it went without saying that Halloween was Shelly’s favorite time of year, and as it turned out, there was only one thing that made it even better:

Spending Halloween with a girlfriend.

Having Ms. Mowz at her side only inspired Shelly even more as the spookiest time of year rolled around, leading to many enthusiastic discussions over what couples costumes they just had to try. Last year, they had to get prepared in separate rooms just to keep the two lovebirds from spending more time flirting than getting ready, but this time, Shelly had another plan. When Mowz came over to the salon that afternoon, she was surprised to find Shelly, already in full costume, greeting her. She had gotten ready early, for the express purpose of personally being the one to give her girlfriend her Halloween makeover. She was the best at this, after all, and Mowzie deserved nothing but the best!

... Well, that, and so she could shamelessly flirt with her the whole time while getting her ready. That too.

Which brings us to now, as Shelly did one final pass across Mowz’s scalp with her clippers. Sure, she was already using no guard on the clippers, assuring that only the shortest pelt of magenta hair was being left behind, but... Mowzie really did seem to love the feeling of being buzzed, and Shelly was more than happy to indulge her a little longer. Once she was done, she set the clippers aside and massaged her girlfriend’s head with her fingers - no practical purpose for it, really, she just loved feeling that super-short fuzz on her girlfriend. Shameless flirting finished, she helped Mowz out of the salon chair and pulled her over to the mirror, allowing the couple to check out their completed costumes side-by-side for the first time.

“So, what do you think... Agent 8?”

Ms. Mowz rushed quickly over to Yariel's table, wallet already in hand. "Excuse me, Mister!! I'd like to get two pumpkins from you, and..." She quickly counted her coins "6 cheeses!!"

Yariel was a bit taken aback by the eagerness of his first customer, though he couldn’t disagree with anyone so excited for farm products. Maybe the kids really were getting with it these days.

“Well, aren’t we a bit excited? Condensed dairy cubes, comin’ right up.” He poked fun a little, beginning to gather up the necessary cheeses. “Hope yer enjoyin’ the party this evenin’.”

Has Shelly ever had a romantic partner before?

Have a romantic partner before? I have one right now, in fact!

Ms. Mowz and I have been together for well over a year now. She’s one of the best things to ever happen to me, and we’re still as head-over-heels in love with each other as when we first met. That said, I do admit there are times where I may be a bit… overzealous in expressing that love.

When they first arrived at the party, the girlfriends had gone their separate ways to check things out and socialize on their own, but it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Shelly eventually found her way back to Ms. Mowz. She sneaked up on her near the snack tables before giving her a surprise hug from behind.

“BOO!” Shelly yelled as she embraced her girlfriend, following up with a laugh and a quick smooch on her cheek, “How’s my little harlequin doing?”

A Friend In Need

I don’t usually make posts like this but (me having my “Happy To Help in Any Way I Can” attitude I do) when somebody is in trouble I can’t help but speak up.

So Bedmun (or better known as @askmsmowz) has been in some SERIOUS financial trouble lately, money was being stolen from right under her nose by her own Mother & now she’s in a lot of trouble because she doesn't have money to pay things such as her bills & if she doesn’t get money soon, she’s gonna have to start selling off her own personal belongings.

but there is something YOU can do to help.

she’s currently doing art commissions where YOU can decide what you pay. Now when I say “YOU can decide what you pay” that doesn’t mean you can just get free art (after all if that were the case then what would be the point) the lowest amount you can pay is $2.50 & honestly, that’s a fantastic price, especially for how talented she is (I’d have already commissioned something if I weren’t flat broke myself).

((Please don’t post until Easter!)) 

Oh! What’s this? A basket has been left at the door of your salon! Definitely not because the Squeek who left it doesn’t know where your house is, nope, not at all. Inside the basket is a rack with some bows, scrunchies, and ribbons, and there’s a few more in the bottom of the basket as well! The big bow on the top is also a hair bow! There’s a stuffed koopa with real-fake hair, it should be good to try styles on! And….for some reason, there’s a pair of kitchen scissors! It’s safe to presume the sender thought these were appropriate hair-cutting tools. 

Oh! On the back of the rack, there’s a note! It reads “Thank you again for the haircut! Now that I know what an actual stylist can do, I promise I won’t cut my own hair anymore! I hope you like the gifts!!” with about a dozen hearts on it. On the back of that, there’s a drawing! 

Oh My! An Easter present for me? That’s so sweet! I can certainly see myself using these ties and scrunchies in the future, especially that sweet bow on top! The doll is really adorable, too; I need to find someplace to put it on display. Maybe with that Harriet trophy I got for Valentine’s Day.

And judging by the note (and attempt at providing me with salon equipment - I appreciate the effort, at least!), I think I have an idea who this may be from… I won’t name names in case you want to remain anonymous, but thank you very much for this basket! I had no idea you were such a talented artist on top of everything else, too! Make sure you come back whenever you need a trim, okay?
