It’s for sure Sal. My reasoning is super selfish. As a trans man I struggle a lot with not being seen as masculine enough/ not passing so Sal being both feminine and canonly short....gives me validation. Also I KNOW WHAT I’M ABOUT TO SAY IS CONTROVERSIAL but I’m mostly attracted to women so Sal having a crush on Ash while still being feminine was nice ok......For my own selfish reasons I headcanon Sal as straight but if you see him as bi or even gay that’s totally ok!! Also, we’re both certified gremlin men so ghosts, cults, cryptids, all that mess!! Are the shit!! I can strictly consume spooky content or I’ll bore of it, it’s a problem. Basically, I kin with Sal, I’M SORRY.,,..,

Hey I saw you reblogging stuff saying Ao3 should start censoring stuff. I think censoring Ao3 itself will actually have the opposite effect you'd want (but the Ao3 elections are over anyways)

Let's take tumblr for example. It operates similarly to Ao3, both have tagging systems and they let you filter out things based on those tags.

When Tumblr banned nsft content amd that other stuff, nsft content and all that other stuff didn't dissapear it just stopped being tagged. Since it stopped being tagged the filtering system stopped working. Since the filtering system stopped working people started seeing things they didn't want to, including very triggering things.

If the same were to happen to Ao3 (which won't happen any time soon since the Ao3 election is over) more people would see the stuff that'd be the target of this censoring that don't want to.

the nsfw shit definitely got purged to hell and back tho. like, stuff slipped through and still does every once in a while, but as someone who purveyed various nsfw tags as well as guro themes-- ya, there's like nothing in comparison to how it used to be lol

i don't frequent ao3 much myself, so any related posts along those lines that i reblog are very little of my own personal investment. but while i myself do advocate for many stretches of dark content, i also believe there's no place for shit like rpf child sexual assault. which is among the content hosted there

poc have also made it plenty clear the issue of openly racist works hosted, along with no reliable way to block, etc. stuff is often already unfiltered and can slip through anyway. like

yes you can have dark content that pushes boundaries. i also think there's def content that almost every single individual can agree should not exist. i think there IS content that is genuinely harmful. i don't see why managing the deepest of layers should effect the broad spectrum of... everything else

especially when people can and will, like, make whole new sites to host that shit anyway
