who does Nic actually care about excluding Victoria?
Amber: Originally befriending her solely for the purposes of manipulating her into Pandora’s pack, Nicolas was quickly won over by the fierce, funny young werewolf. They don’t see eye to eye on everything, but he’s gone out of his way to protect her - a fact to which he’s kept Amber intentionally ignorant.
Erik: Their friendship started under peculiar circumstances, when one was imprisoned and the other was petitioning to set him free. That event turned them into fast friends, although Erik’s eventual transition added many bumps along the way. Their relationship now isn’t what it used to be, but there’s still an undeniable bond between them - though Nicolas isn’t always open to admitting it.
Pandora: Of the three on this list, Nicolas (on the surface, at least) is the most similar to Pandora. He understands her drive and her ambition intimately well, and the respect she has for him is largely mutual. They’ve had important talks together, they’ve hunted together, and they’ve killed for each other. Now that he knows she’s been taken hostage, the vampire will go to some extreme lengths to get her back.
