“Deputy Collins,” he greeted the woman with a small nod. She was short and red-headed; at first glance, he’d thought she was Romanov. She even walked with the same kind of economy of effort, every movement careful and necessary. Alert. Guarded.

But on the second look he decided that while the resemblance was striking, it wasn’t a freaky doppelgänger thing. This Deputy Rachel Collins, this woman who could command magic, was different than Natasha. There was a spark, a sort of confidence that said she was used to being trusted. Used to being taken seriously. A small smile pulled at the corners of his mouth as he glanced away from her for a moment.

“I’m Dr. Banner. Please, call me Bruce. Welcome to the Avengers Tower.”

He furrowed his eyebrows at her. “That’s why it’s my favorite. Nice balance, easy to hold in the hand, no matter the size,” He pulled the knife hidden in his jacket pocket, showing it off. “Nice balance, good looking, but can be difficult for smaller hands,”
