Greetings. Not a question really, just wanted to praise your character design, truly all of them are lovely but Leshy in particular is such a wonderful unit and the bug legs truly make the picture even better!
I guess if the question was not asked before - what inspired the designs for them bishops and possibly any other character you feel like explaining?
Ooo! Ty for the compliments! :3
I got inspired by @laserbobcat and @runningwithscizzorz
I really like the more animal accurateish designs and also I am very normal for bob's big leshy
Though Leshy's design (or any of the bishops isnt really the most finished rn cuz I kinda want the bishops to go through a bit of a redesign as they grow as mortals n people, currently this is them at the start of their arcs
For Kallamar, I got really inspired by the dancer phyisque and all of the clothing i saw for dancers on my pinterest, now does this mean Kallamar is a good dancer? No, not really,
Dancers are hot and Im as self indulgent as a prideful glutton in hell
I have alot more ideas for Narinder (...not bc I do favorites... wahhhh.. ur crazy) like for example, him trying to outwardly be a type of deterent for people in general and especially lamb, even wearing one of lambs unfinished crochets projects that he claimed as his own or his creepy shadowed face
Yet another instance of his design is the peeking of his domestication/softer side, if you didnt know, animals often have white markings on their bodies when they have been domesticated. Alot of Narinders white spots hold a bit of connotation in regards for nari
His white foot could allude to him still walking with a bit of innocence or obliviousness cuz trapped in a white void for like a million years kinda makes you out the loop, also a bit of dichotomy with his black foot so like life paws and death paws
His finger cuz relic
His happy trail cuz..... heh... (hes extremely emotionally, physically starved and scared and has conflicted feelings when it comes to sex)
The sheep skull is an onion of meaning, like the way that his correlation to sheep was set when he was born, allusion to death, relation to how lamb ""owns"" him or narinders softness when it comes to lamb
I kinda wanna delve more abt narinder (especially with the new comic i made) but ill do that in another post
For shamura, I was veryyy much inspired by @alllgator-blood's work (infact their work also inspired the majority of my work similar to runningwithscizzorz) I wasnt really satisfied with my old blockheaded shamura design cuz it was hard to draw them n do expressions so I took inspiration by the brown recluse and lengthened their head maaaybe just a little
I very much like to think shamura is actually a weird biological frankenstien of features, and also that theyd work very well in the winter with their stocky body, and yes I made a dress into their robe
For heket I really wanted to do a more intricate design or like a design that wasnt really like my others (cuz omg Im so good at pattern recognition I recongize similarities in designs to the point where I stress if the character is unique enough and i worry if Im like a computer chuffing out the same shit but i digress) I also kinda wanna leaned into the "if youre seeing this mf at night you are SOOO thinking theyre a cryptid" which is like literally what happens to her
