He trapped her in another bone-jarring hug, then dropped her back down. “Here, take it!” He presented her an old, slightly scuffed Kitsune mask. “Humans like collecting these things, right? Oh—!!” He dug in his pockets, then dropped a few small bones into her hands. “For your dogs!”

   Desiree’s body stiffened at the sudden shout, and the hug did nothing to relax her as body was further put into major stress before she was finally let go. He was giving her no time to recoup as the mask was held out to her, as with the tiny bones that were unceremoniously dropped into her hand. A moment was given as she glanced at the gifts, before she offered an awkward smile to him in return. “Ah, thanks, Hira… But, uh, I didn’t get you anything. I forgot. I guess I could run and get you candy from a gas station or something?”

"It's the gift giving day, so I have something for you." Sovann hands Desiree a gift unceremoniously: a ritual dagger with a hilt all covered in rose gold, pink glitter, and donned with a thin ornament in the shape of a wolf's hand where the hilt turned to a curved handle. The blade shimmered an iridescent purple when held next to the light. "Stole it right off the cooling body of one of those demigod bastard children just for you. And I gave it some upgrades, of course."

   “Sovann...” The beginning of some harsh words concerning the glitter, the source of the dagger, and the idea of ‘upgrades’ danced on the tip of her tongue as she handled the blade, glitter coming off with every toss from hand to hand. Still, none of it came to fruition, most of her frustration coming out in the form of a sigh instead of any sharp insults. “... Thanks. I guess. Although, for next year, maybe don’t get me something belonging to a corpse. Your shit is from the candy store.” And so a bag of peppermint bark was abruptly held out to be given to the idiot across from her.
