( jaune is a main character though ( both team rwby and jnpr were main characters team rwby are the protagonists ( primary main characters while jnpr are deutaragonist team ( secondary main characters ) and there are parallels between arkos with salem and ozma ( with pyrrha being ozma and jaune being in the salem role ( there are multiple parallels between pyrrha and ozma ( ozpin is not an asshole ( I still stand by my stance team Qrwby were jerks ( and hypocrites )
Idk how to tell you this but the show isn’t called RWBYJ. JNPR are main supporting characters, but in the end the show is still called RWBY. It’s about team RWBY and everyone else is supporting them. With the parallels between arkos and the immortals, I really just don’t care dude. Pyrrha’s been dead longer than she’s been alive like she’s gone. I’m not gonna spend my time arguing about a character that had death flags up the wazoo right up until she died. And I’m gonna stand by my opinion of Ozpin not being in the right and qrwby were rightfully angry. I’m just going to quote @mockerd3light ‘s entire post because they did a really good job of explaining it:
“Qrow: He had the biggest reaction, seeing as he has been fighting for Ozpin’s Ozlluminati for what we assume is at least 15+ years he’s just been told by the man himself that he has no plan to defeat Salem. In his view Oz has literally been throwing bodies (people Qrow has worked with and presumably seen die in horrific ways) at the problem with no plan to end or at least neutralize Salem(this is from his perspective; in my view I think that Ozpin has probably tried a lot of shit to neutralize Salem probably even stuff that was morally reprehensible, he has had hella lifetimes after all) Yang: who joined this whole journey to look after Ruby(WHO JOINED THIS LIttLE CABAL TO FIGHT SALEM) who says what boils down to “You haven’t told us the whole truth at all, how can we trust you?” this coming off her confrontation with Raven and the knowledge that people will look for all kinds of excuses to explain what she sees as cowardice. Yang in this moment is raring to go for a verbal argument, which is clarified when she says “We aren’t done talking yet!” when Ozpin retreats from the confrontation(understandable seeing as he’s just relived his oldest trauma involuntarily and just had one of the people he is closest too in this life tell him that their meeting “was the worst luck of [his] life”) This retreat does have the effect of exacerbating the problem. No one else really says anything except for Ruby, who doesn’t yell or anything, but simply asks; “Do you have a plan to defeat Salem?”. In later volumes Ruby is quite behind the concept that they don’t need to destroy Salem to defeat her. The inciting incident for Qrow is when Oz straight up says “I don’t have a plan to defeat her.” then Qrow loses control and punches him(Which is a whole different bag of worms since he is actually punching Oscar as well). I find that a lot of people who criticize this scene in how RWBY and Qrow are terrible for having this reaction and they all became huntresses for reasons other than Salem have a tendency to ignore the context. At this point in the show, they aren’t here as huntresses, they are here specifically because they have learned about Salem and the Relics(which are only explained to them+Qrow as objects of great power) and want to help prevent the fall of humanity at her hands.” (Here’s the post https://mockerd3light.tumblr.com/post/645850332653649920/semblance-of-sanity)
Ozpin really has been just kinda throwing bodies at the problem with no real plan, so I’d say the others were rightfully angry when finding out they’re essentially just more bodies to throw. I’m not saying that everyone did everything right, because if they did, that wouldn’t make for a very interesting story. I get that you wish Jaune was the main character, but he’s not and never will be. That’s what fanfiction is for.
