Can demons breed with cecelia? Since they lay eggs I mean
Technically, demons can breed with all species of people. This includes the egg-laying ones like cecaelia and gorgons. Now, I say "technically" because while it may be possible, it may also be super unlikely to happen naturally. Let me explain...
There are two ways for a demon and a cecaelia to breed: 1) A male demon deposits his sperm into a female cecaelia's egg clutch. 2) A male cecaelia deposits his sperm into a female demon.
Both of these scenarios are extremely unlikely to happen, because for one thing, cecaelias are asexual by nature. They breed without contact with eachother, so they never evolved the ability to feel lust and don't get much--if any--pleasure from sexual activity. So, there is no good reason for a cecaelia to be messing around with demons in the first place.
Second, cecaelia spend a lot of time underwater. Demons are Terrian creatures, so they don't tend to hang out where cecaelia do. Also, cecaelia's egg clutch must be underwater to stay viable. I don't know why a male demon would go snorkeling, fight through armed security, and break into a cecaelian nursery just stick his wiener in a random egg clutch...it's hilarious to think about, but it just ain't gonna happen.
World Athenaeum scientists have successfully bred demon/cecaelia offspring in a lab environment (and yes, it was exactly the ethical nightmare you're imagining!), so it has been confirmed as possible. But does it happen in nature? Not really.
This is also the case with gnome/demon hybrids. Like yeah, it's possible, but outside of lab testing it's basically unheard of.
