Shinko Returns
Maybe...maybe I’ve been going in the wrong direction this whole time....
Okay I know you may got this kind of question before but why have you stopped doing your reviews on your YouTube Channel?
omg I don’t know how long this was in my inbox but I’m so sorry! I only just noticed this question now!Anyways, yeah I do get this question fairly often (About once every few months or so) but I don’t mind answering it again.Simply put: Real life got in the way along with technical limitations. Shinko’s VA and artist at the time got really busy with school and I was struggling with an old computer and a REALLY outdated version if iMovie to edit all of the episodes. I kind of hit a wall with the Negaverse Arc because what I wanted to do just couldn’t be done with iMovie. There’s actually three ‘lost’ reviews that never made it out of production: Prince and the Pauper, Disney Scene-It, and Nightmare Ned. All three were bogged down by tech problems, and the more and more time went past the less motivated I was to keep going until the show just quietly came to a halt.I have thought about making a comeback, but it’s a matter of ‘how would I do it?’ and more importantly ‘Would anyone care?’.
The fact is, back when Hikari and I first did Lenny and Shinko it was like the wild west, Internet Reviews were a new thing, and we were lucky enough to get in on the ground floor and get a following. Now there’s a new reviewer every time you turn your head! I fear we’d just be another voice at the shouting contest...More importantly, Youtube’s copyright system has gotten so advanced since the late 2000′s, reviewers are always in danger nowadays of getting stricken down; ESPECIALLY with a subject matter like the almighty Disney! If we ever did go back to Lenny and Shinko, I had two ideas: An ‘Adventures Of’ series that’d be more story-focused instead of reviews and actually show how the two met each other. If we did reviews again, I’d like it to be a continuation and be like the 2011 Muppet Movie: a ‘getting the band back together’ story. Complete with a rendition of ‘Pictures in my Head’
But for now...I don’t know. I AM working on a big professional-style project though, which I’m keeping under wraps for now. I also fear that said project would get in the way of I went back to Lenny and ShinkoSo the future is uncertain for that series right now, but you can always look at Shinko’s tumblr page Ask Shinko!
Trick or treat!
“Ooh, nice costume! Is that Peacock?”
The Repairman produced a public-domain chocolate bar from his bowl and gave it to Shinko.
Then something occurred to him. He looked into his bowl.
“Funny how these things are everywhere, eh?” he remarked. “Never seen them advertised, come to think of it…”
He shook his head.
“Anyway, Happy Halloween!”
> examine toons_
-----------
>The Toons were all wearing masks of various shapes and sizes. Some were classic horror characters, some were masks of more popular Toons.
Still, Shinko wasn’t sure if she was up to the task of introducing herself to a whole crowd of strangers. She didn’t want to be considered rude, after all.
But then, she heard a voice behind her.
“Hey, you just move in?” came a creepy male voice from behind her.
Shinko gasped as she turned around to see that one of the masked Toons was wearing a Judge Doom mask. That was the Toon that had addressed her.
“Actually, I was just dropping in to trick-or-treat...” she tried to reply, slowly backing away. And yet, the masked Toon seemed to only edge closer and closer, with other masked Toons joining him. “I swear, I have not moved in!”
“Oh, I think you did....”
Shinko ended up slipping on some spilled punch, looking up in fear as the masked Toons drew closer.
“Welcome to the neighborhood....”
--------------------------------------------------------
> Shinko sat up with a start, still wearing a light blue shirt, her orange hair a mess. She was in her bedroom, and judging from the calendar on her wall, it was October 30th.
But had it really all been a dream? Or was there really a district of half-animated Toons for her to be a part of? But even if it did exist, would she want to move there, just to move away from all the Disney Toons she had grown up to admire? Not to mention, it would mean a large distance to commute to work. The commute wasn’t impossible, given she could use a Toon hole, but it would be a longer distance.
She let out a small sigh. She should’ve known that it had been a dream. She was too old for trick-or-treating anyway.
But what about that party at the Gracey Manor....?
The End?
>Continue Trick or Treating; head towards flat-top building with the open door and light pouring out from inside
----------------------------------------------
> Shinko started to make her way towards the large building with the equally large open door.
Just what sort of door was this built for? Giants?
As Shinko got closer, she started to hear spooky yet cheerful music, as well as sounds of a crowd.
Upon closer inspection, it seemed like this place was, in fact, a hotel filled with many patrons, all dressed up in spooky costumes.
“I guess I just stumbled upon a Halloween party. Not sure if I’d be welcome in though....” she thought to herself.
What should Shinko do?

> examine right doorway_
---------------------
> The right doorway comes from probably the tallest building in the neighborhood. At the very least, the tallest within sight. It was large, so it wasn’t very likely that it was someone’s personal home.
Shinko assumed that it could possibly coming from a bar, restaurant, or even a hotel.
The half-animated Toon, shivered, remembering the few times she went on the Tower of Terror in Disneyland.
Still, it was possible that something interesting could be going on over there...
