hello, all of you! I have a question for griffin- why.

Well, sight is the main use for everyone else's projects, in a way. To conduct an experiment, thighs must be observable, they must be tangible. If you remove the visible aspect from your object, who's to tell if it was ever there at all?

Equally, I was told I couldn't. I was told that it would be an impossible challenge and that it would leave me scarred if I ever tried. Whilst I did have a bout of temporary blindness, it has now subsided. In a sense.. stubbornness. They have said it's an impossible challenge. I wish to prove that it is nearly improbable.

Perseus does show up on occasion. Whenever I find him next, likely when he's knocking over my glass vials and paper work, begging for food, I will send on your.. "scritches".

Question for Sinnett! What do you like most about fire?

I bet you're expecting me to give some scientific answer but nope!

Honestly, I really like the crackling sound it makes. It's homely for me. Reminds me of cooking the fish my brother caught at home.

Butttttt on another note, have you seen how persistent fire is?? It can get stomped out but it always has the chance to come back to life, a little ember causing an entire log to catch alight!

People might say it's dangerous, and sure, it is, but it's also dangerously beautiful.

For Helsby—is your octopus assistant sentient? Does he understand English or does he just follow you wherever you go?

For Doddle—what’s your favourite candy you’ve made and what component of it was experimental?

For Sinnett—how’d you lose your arm? Alternately, who built the prosthetic and when?

For Ito—most interesting thing you’ve made? How is it being one of the few responsible people in the Society??

William is a fine individual of an octopus! An excellent addition to my crew! He doesn't understand English but, similar to a dog I suppose, he can be taught commands, which is far superior to Griffin's cat!

He does however tend to get.. cuddly. And he's very hard to remove.

Favourite candy? Golly goodness, you think I have a favourite! Well.. if I absolutely had to pick, I'd suppose a traditional rock candy! The process of throwing and twisting the candy on the candy hook is very therapeutic, I find! And, as a bonus, you can hide whatever your heart desires inside of those little capsules of wonderment!

Such as, but not limited to, popping candy, sherbet, teeny tiny kernels with nitrous oxide for a fabulous smokey breath and, my personal favourite, stink strips! (The opposite of a mint, if you understand.)

My arm? I lost it not long before I joined the society, a few years before. I was boating with my fisherman brother and I had a bit of a boating accident? It's.. uh.. quite the dark story. So we'll keep it at boating accident for now!

I made the arm! With a little bit of assistance! I enjoy metal working, because it involves fire and the specific temperature points, so I formed and welded myself together a new arm, with help from out town blacksmith. Though, metal is very very hard to itch.

However, my reputation of "responsible" does mean that when no lodger wishes to go to Doctor Jekyll for assistance.. they come to me. The most interesting thing I've made would be a hair growth serum, though it took a few tries to stop it from turning Archers hair bright blue. His prank wars be damned.

What are the lodgers opinions on each other? Do you view yourselves as a crew or as just scientists stuck together in one building?

I think I speak for quite a number of us here when I say that most of us view each other as a crew! For some of us, the notion of having like-minded individuals so close to you is refreshing, after being shunned so long.

I dare say, it's a little like a family. And more than a few of us lack those.
