Frobisher and Dr. Peri Brown meet when Frobisher finds Dr. Peri Brown's lost pet.
Frobisher hadn’t had a case like this since the Case of the Absconded Feline. He wouldn’t have taken it, but he hadn’t had a case at all since the Case of the Silent Neighbors, and he hadn’t even gotten paid for that because they were his neighbors. They’d moved. And according to his neighbors, “incompetent detective neighbor” was reason #4 why they moved. But that was weeks ago, and Frobisher’s sense of adventure was looking as hungry as his wallet.
Okay, so this hadn’t been a case so much as a missing dog poster, but stuck in this early century, Frobisher would take the cases he could get. And tracking animals was something Frobisher was getting better at, he might not have had a scent to follow but he could go anywhere any animal could and many places they couldn’t. He found the animal eating refuse in a dumpster which apparently was easier to climb into than out of.
He was surer it was the right dog after he gave it a bath, and the closer he got to the address on the poster, the surer he was that he had found the right dog, or at least that this strange dog really wanted to go to Doc Brown’s house, whoever they were.
He hadn’t been expecting to see a familiar, if older, face when he came around, wearing a human form and alternating between towing and being towed by a very enthusiastic dog.
