1. what color do you talk in?
I thought about this for a while and there are quite a few colours that I’ve seen myself talk in. Usually, when I talk with people that I care for, it would be pastel, soft-colored nuances, that make their hearts feel warm and light. Sometimes, being the lone wolf that I am, I disappear for a while, but that doesn’t dim the colours.
But I’m also passionate about a lot of things, and very protective of those I care for, and also a little bit stubborn, so you might see me talking in a burgundy read every once in a while. But usually that doesn’t last long. I’ll got back to my pastel colours very happily unless you give me reason not to.
Sometimes there’s a rainy blue, when I’m sleepy or tired and melancholy or just nostalgic. I don’t often get all emotional on anyone, but when I do I’m usually very affectionate.
I love the nuances in between, nothing too bright or too dark. Those soothing colours in between is where my voice lives.
10. if you could choose one person to protect with your life, who would it be?
Hands down, my mother. She has protected me with her life countless times, and there’s never been a moment where I’ve been unsure of her love or her support or her loyalty, and that makes me an incredibly privileged human being. She’s never gotten all of the things she wanted or deserved and if I could, I’d definitely protect her with my life.
12. what book do you need to read?
There are so fucking many books, I can’t even count them - there’s a huge pile on my nightstand. I have recently bought A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin and I can’t wait to read it, quite honestly. I have quite a few badass ladies to do research on and that’s what I intend to do this summer.
13. who saved your life?
I did. I could have easily destroyed myself but halfway down I decided that pain and suffering was not the reason I was put on this earth for and I pulled the break. Recovery is hard, and sometimes it feels like I’m back at zero, but then I look at all the progress I’ve made, and that gives me the energy to pick myself up, start again if necessary, and continue. It’s me. Because I’m fucking worth it.
15. if you could only repeat words said by one person, who would you want to be echoing?
I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love. (Mother Theresa)
16. do you like feeling tall?
Yes, there’s no point in denying it. I’ve always wished I was taller. (I’m 5’ 5" / 165cm). It might have something to do with me being protective as shit. I’d just love to tower over people and tell them to fuck off with my eyes alone. Which works at this height just fine, I’ll have you know, but I just tell myself it might be easier if I’d be taller. And I know, I’m projecting. :P
24. who do you admire most in the world? why?
Gosh, there are so many people that I admire. I have random bolts of admiration throughout the day - people who tell me they’ve done a thing even though they were scared as hell. People who told someone they loved them, even though they were scared of rejection and embarrassment. People who push trough and live their live, even through they know people around them might not always understand or approve of their life style.
Anyone who overcomes their own anxieties and fears on their daily basis has my admiration. Because I’m aspiring to be one of them, every single day anew.
29. if you had to change your name to something else, what would you change it to? why?
I wouldn’t. I’ve never liked my name growing up but I’ve grown to like it, and it’s mine. And I wouldn’t change it.
34. if you were a teacher, what would you assign to your class as their first project?
There was that one project that one of our teachers did and I always wished more teachers would have done it, but sadly none ever did.
This is fun, even more so if this is a class where people know each other already a little bit:
Just like Secret Santa - make someone pick a name. Then ask your students the following questions: What do you like or admire about the person you’ve picked? What have you always wanted to tell them but you were to shy to speak up? What is something that makes you proud of them? Write it on a piece of paper, anonymously.
Then collect them and hand them out to the person in question. It gives everyone something to smile about.
