((Please put up with me while I vent… For as long as I could remember I’ve lived with crippling chronic depression and anxiety, and when I didn’t have a support system, one of the few things that kept me going for so long was music. To be very specific on the who, Linkin Park. Their songs helped me vent so much of my frustration, anger and sadness and I was able to breathe more easily, able to have more strength to wake up for another day. My strongest support system before I had any else, before I finally pulled myself together enough to know that I needed to seek help, was Linkin Park. Chester Bennington was a man who’s voice touched so deep within me and helped me move forward and I’ll never forget how grateful I am to him and Linkin Park. His suicide was such a blow that I spent a whole day in a daze of disbelief before I could finally mourn his loss. So it should be pretty fucking understandable why I would feel so offended and angry and frustrated when, watching the VMAs, Jared Leto had to ask people fucking TWICE to stand up to pay respect to Chester’s memory. That MTV cut a tribute performance for Chester to a fucking ad. That ‘who shaded who’ is a more valid conversation than the complete disrespect to the memory of a man who literally saved lives with his musical legacy.))
