The gate creaked open with an eerie squeak of the hinges, and you took a step through...
Immediately past the gate, your head seemed to clear a bit. Like the iron posts were locking out the thick fog both physically and metaphorically clouding your head.
The smell of roses and lavender hit your nose, and a simple stone path lead up to the grand manor, branching off to various gardens with pavilions and structures.
But the manor is what drew you attention the most.
Maybe it was the street lamps leading up to and framing the heavy double doors, maybe it was the flicker of something moving behind one of the windows, or even the fact that the very estate demanded your focus.
Either way, your feet carried you up to the dark carved wood and your hand firmly grasped the handle, giving it a turn…
The door opened and you stepped in.
Unlike how you expected, there was no splendid opening room with chandeliers and servants… There was only one narrow hallway leading to a single stair case heading up.
You followed the hall, noting the dark floral wallpaper and the almost silent ticking of a clock somewhere.
Blank picture frames covered the walls at seemingly random heights.
The stairs had a double banister, and though they looked to stretch on infinitely, you reached the top in no time at all.
It lead out into another hallway, with tall windows all along one side and doors along the other.
Mid-day light pours through the glass, and a glance out them showed you were likely on the third floor.
There is one much larger door at the end of the hall.
There was many doors lining the right side of the hall, all facing the windows and closed. Only one of the doors is cracked, a soft and classical melody flowing from the room.
You approach the door, pushing it open and going inside...
The girl is there, sitting in a well decorated Parlor.
“Welcome to my Parlor! Take a seat. Let’s have some tea and chat for a bit.” she says with a smile, “It’s been so long since I’ve had other company.~”
[Go ahead. Ask me something.]
