Walk with me: flower, after some actual communication (difficult to get to between all his teasing/obnoxious behavior), putting Ned in a leather muzzle/bit. This is prior to Asky’s integration into their trio.
At first, Asky is put off by this during their scenes, not quite used to their dynamic or where he fits into it. Though, he is eventually he gets used to it. For Ned, it’s almost a comfort item, grounding his already quiet self.
When Ned and Flower finally come to Asky with the proposition of being muzzled as well. This, obviously, has different connotations in Asky’s mind, as he’s generally a louder more outgoing personality. After some reassurance and a few days of coaxing, he eventually comes around to the idea.

asky genuinely believes they're just trying to shut him up instead of make him flower's other dog. he's so embarrassed because he must be so loud and so annoying that they wanna muzzle him that he starts going quieter around them. ned and flower both reassure him it's only during scenes that he'd be wearing it and that they love how talkative he is ♡
ned loves being muzzled. he loves giving up control and doing what told, loves not having to think for himself. he loves it so much he even asks flower to use it on him when they're not doing anything because he just likes being able to be an obedient dog instead of being an adult human sometimes which. man me too
asky sees how happy ned is with it and that's what convinces him to do it. even if it's just once, he wants to try it, and he finds he actually likes it a lot. he especially likes when flower makes him and ned touch each other while muzzled.
