doing arabic vocab revjew and one if the words is soldier and ik daabit bc for some reason daabit al jaysh is one of the terms from a much earlier unit. but in this unit, they're looking for the term askaree. and the way ive been remembering it has been thinking of asky bc it sounds similar and like player/soldier easy link. AND THEN i go wow isn't that so funny it would be crazy if thats what his name actually meant. haha. unless. and well it turns out it does infact come from the root askar meaning soldier :) yay etymology :)
