From what I remember, that Shyren post was a response to fandom drama that was going on back then.
That’s just it. Lots of drama crept up into the fandom later. But back then there wasn’t really any.

It’s gotta be the Joltik Galvantula family, my friend. Look at them. They’re cute, lovely colour scheme, very fuzzy, and also exceptionally practical. I mean you got electric and you got bug all in one convenient adorable package. I couldn’t ask for a better contribution to the pokemon zoology than these creatures.

It’s another tie with the awesome and weird giant centaur bug and the badass herculean hercules beetle. One is cool and sinister looking and the other is just an adorable lug of a pokemon.

According to the terms of service, tumblr is a 13+ website. Obviously there are specifically adult sections but it's not an inherently adult focused website.
And the post doesn’t say that it is.
But it is an adult-dominated website. As sourced in the link that’s right there in the post you replied to, unless the demographics of Tumblr have changed wildly in the past few years we’re looking at a site where around 80% of the userbase are over 18. The mobile app is also marked as 17+, at the very least on iOS (though I’ve yet to been able to find any info on how the Android store rates it).
As an extension of that, while Tumblr may not specifically be intended to be adult-focused, any site where the vast majority of the userbase are adults, and where a good chunk of the already-a-minority under-18 portion of the userbase should not have access via the mobile app (which I know isn’t the case in practice, but that and the ramifications of that are ultimately on them/their parents and guardians, not on every other user of the site) is one where the community naturally would focus on and mostly revolve around the adult users of the site and the way that they use it, because... they’re the vast majority of the users.
Whether or not Tumblr is ‘adult-focused’ is up for debate - I wouldn’t personally describe it that way, to be honest - but the fact that certain people are very much pushing for a site with a large majority of adult users to operate in a way that would accurately be described as ‘minor-focused’ is... honestly, nonsensical, because Tumblr is not, in any way, a site/community where that actually makes any sense.
Grandpa Semi's theme sounding like Metal Crusher makes me think he was planned to be the main Hotland npc at one point, but was later replaced by Alphys. Then that inspired the in-game backstory of Gaster being a scientist who was removed from reality and whose job was succeeded by Alphys.
Hmmm.
Alphys is already a doctor in the files even back then, however. That was a role she always had, so it may be that she was always slated to be the royal scientist. It doesn’t rule Gaster being connected to Hotland, though! Perhaps he was the retired royal scientist, or the royal engineer, or just an engineer. We all know where the CORE is, after all, and I’ll bet he was always scheduled to have made that …
I don't get why people are assuming Frisk saying nasty things to the Dummy would be out of character, given how many jerk options there are in dialogue choices, even in goody-two-shoes runs. (By the way, Mad Dummy is referred to with they pronouns.)

Don't forget Litleo and Pyroar. They're normal/fire because they need normal type to get STAB on their roaring based moves.
I haven’t played X and Y, I didn’t even know Litleo and Pyroar had roaring based moves. Maybe, I’m not sure. I suppose it can be argued they could make the list too.
