@asloeg asked: ❛ Thank you for, you know, taking care of me. And everything. ❜ from Aslaug @asloeg 👀 (In which I agree a 120% that they would get along very well and in which they both know Aslaug will die and leave her sons behind, but Aslaug does not worry because she trusts Sigrúnn.
SIGRÚNN COULD ONLY BOW HER HEAD TO THE QUEEN -a most unlikely friend, although not as unlikely once you would look at the gifts both women shared. Speaking of a prophecy like this was never easy, and deep down there was a wish that death would change her mind. A foolish wish, especially for a woman like her. Not even her bony fingers would be able to pluck at and change the fate woven for them at birth, merely speak what the Norns allowed her to see what challenges the future would face them with.
❝ I am not to thank. I believe none should be thanked for what is about to come. ❞ Sorrow dripped from her tongue as she spoke. Anger even arose, disbelief after replaying the images in her mind. Blood trickled down her fingers, a sacrifice brought. Still, she reached that hand out towards Aslaug. A sign of trust and understanding. ❝ She is ready to take you away from here, and she shall await you when the moment comes. Our mother, the one who guides our eyes. --- do not dread what is about to come. You are stronger than she who shoots the arrow, but she shall not know and live with that lie till she falls. She has already marked the start of her own downfall. ❞
