Reflecting on the current situation and I am seeing more posts of celebrations at home. This brings back memories of days gone by where we did not compete with one another on the best birthday party for our kids, a public place to have the party, who to invite, I mean the list goes on. I already thought the simpler times were special and really hope we are returning to those times. The materialism and competition is so overrated. What does matter is family and friends and a simple celebration, a couple of gifts, a homemade cake and a special homemade dinner, if possible. I can remember one of my siblings wanting hotdogs for their birthday dinner at home. We did not have friends over, it was just the 6 of us, and if a family member was in town, they would be there too (we didn’t live near family). What are your thoughts?
