Alhamdulillah I have the privilege of doing a science degree. My majors include chemistry, which deals with things on a very small scale, and also ocean & atmosphere science, which deals with processes at a much larger scale. I had the blessing of learning only some of the many, many ways in which He swt takes care of us in every way possible in this physical world. I have had the chance to reflect on all the different ways the physical world has spiritual meanings, and how they all point to Him and His attributes.
Verily, He is: Al Khaaliq, the Creator. When I think of the way the magnetosphere and the Ozone layer protects the planet, I am reminded that He is Al Muhaiymin, the Preserver. When I think of tunneling, where particles move through "impassable” barriers that require an inconceivable amount of energy, I am reminded that He is Al Jabbar, the Powerful. When I think of the chlorophyll molecule, and its beauty and symmetry, I am reminded that He is Al Musawwir, the Fashioner of forms. When I think of the way the world’s water masses circumambulate around antarctica, to get an injection of nutrients and cool water, I am reminded that He is Al Hakim the Wise, and Al Muhyi, the Giver of life. Thunderstorms are nothing but the atmosphere’s attempt to restore balance in terms of temperature, surely He is Al Adl, the Just. When I think of the stereoelectronic trajectory that necessitates all molecular bond formation, who else but Al Hadi, the Guide, is responsible for that?
Subhanallah, there is not one lecture in all my 4 years of studying that I walked out of without having my trust in Him renewed and strengthened.
Ya Nur, The Light, Ya Alim, The All-Knowing, please allow me to learn more about You through the learning of Your creation. Ya Hafith, The Protector, help me remember everything beneficial so I can use it for the benefit of humanity in whatever way You see best.
