Alhamdulillah for tiredness.
For that gentle nudge in rest's direction.
For that sweet symbol of you having lived so full
That the vessel of your soul needs rest, and your soul needs a brief escape.
Alhamdulillah for tiredness.
Energy differences facilitate the release of light, and the world is full of colour. Alhamdulillah
Fikr: Stop don't talk! Reflect allow tranquillity to roam within, then speak to your Soul and your heart will reply with Love!
Intentionality > Productivity
Productivity makes me feel like I have to slave away at the bottom line of the giant capitalist machinery. Do this and do that. Get this done at this time. For me, the more I measure the value of my time by the scale of productivity the higher the pressure. Pressure is good. It gets us to do things. But the moment I feel like I'm not "keeping up" to some abstract idea of the perfect level of "productivity", it sends me into Sad Mode, which sends me into being completely unable to do anything except wallow in how "unproductive" I'm being.
So I've come to learn that it's more tranquil to be intentional about the way you spend your time. Ibn Ata'illah says that the sign of success at the end is turning to Allah at the beginning. Why am I doing what I am doing? Do I mean to do this? Or am I just being a sensory consumer of my environment?
If I am still. Let it be because I intend to be still. Honour your intellect and its superiority over your lower self by affirming its agency behind your actions. Do what you mean to do, instead of just trying to keep up with things and going with the flow. Be present instead of worrying about how much you will get done in a certain amount of time. Be. Present. Be intentional. Say Bismillah. And leave the rest to Allah.
I want to release my attachment to my idea of the future, and my longing for the past and just recognize the manifestations of the Divine Attributes around me right now.
Something refreshingly beautiful blossoms in a friendship after the first time you stand shoulder to shoulder in salah together.
Science is to see with the eye of the mind.
Spirituality is to see with the eye of the soul.
Religion is to see how to use the one to help the other so that we can be of those who Allah speaks of when He says “We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. “ (Quran 41:53)
