Day 8

I went to sxsw a couple weeks ago with the homies. it was a very cool experience. got to meet Trae tha Truth, Tahj mowry, Freddie Gibbs and watched Chance the rapper perform. His performance was very inspiring to watch. watching someone live out their dreams at 21 years old, without a major record label and having mad fun sharing love and positivity. Anyways, my friend had some homeboys that lived in the city that we chilled with and their dad was an OG in the game. This man was rolllin up in the restroom and we just jumped into a deep ass conversation. I was intoxicated so idk how the convo started but i remember him telling me “when a man loves you, you won't ever have to ask for anything.” i was like what does that mean and he said “when you're hungry, you won't have to ask for food. when yo feet need a massage after a long day, you won't have to ask.” damn. then i thought about how much my mom loves me. i don’t ask that woman for anything unless its like unnecessary extras but she always got me. so i guess a man that truly loves you, will have your needs and desires in mind and prepared without you having to ask. not all, of course. but yea i was really effin with what he was saying. he also said “when you are dating a man, meet his family before you sleep with him because if you go to his house and they some crazy mu fuckas, you got you a crazy mu fucka.” harsh but seemed very logical to me, lol. Last thing he said was “if it makes you happy, run wit it. if it takes away from your happiness, let that shit go, simple.” wow. idk how i remember this low-key but i guess it stuck with me for a reason. anywayz, know what you're getting yourself into before hand. Day 7

people with cool and creative ideas that talk about all their plans are cool, but people that actually execute their visions and make shit happen are cooler, always. it kinda reminds me of a quote i read in “rich dad, poor dad.” it says “Often in the real world, its not the smart who get ahead, but the bold.” basically in this instance, “the smart” meaning the content in ones brain isn't enough to progress, you gotta act. I had a lot of ideas in my head that were dope to me but if i didn’t put them out into the world, they'll remain wasted ideas in my head. mainly why I've released so much music at once. at the beginning of the year my homeboy told me “its 2015, we can't waste anymore days.” very simple, but very serious saying. i can't afford to waste time anymore. A special quest came into my African American studies class and said “live life on purpose.” that’s so essential dawg. wake up every morning and live the life you live with A PURPOSE, ON PURPOSE. do everything with the intentions of growing. I'm no longer “going through the motions,” cause the motions are what lead to the valuable lessons. its time to really grow into the woman God wants me to be. and not what my friends, not my parents, not my siblings, not any of these dudes want me to be, but who God wants me to be and hopefully the woman i want to be is aligned with who He wants me to be. 

I got to perform an original song yesterday, very cool. the video should be out friday. I released two songs: N-R-G and Less Talk, Mo listen. Im still focused, Im still praising, I'm still growing, I'm still writing. Hope you are too....
