So much has happened in the past few weeks, the Baudelaires are just happy to sleep under Mr.Poe's uncomfortable roof another night. But babies cry - its normal and unavoidable - and someone has to be the shoulder to cry on. It would be easier if /they/ weren't gone. [BOOK OR SHOW VERSE. SET AFTER THE BAD BEGINNING. SIBLING BONDING. ONE-SHOT. COMPLETE.]
Is one of the Quagmire triplets on the COVER of ‘The Austere Academy’???
There is a dark haired child next to Carmelita on the cover… their hairstyle looks similar to that of the illustration of the Isadora and Duncan Quagmire who we all know and love.
This evidence of course brings forth the million sapphire question: “Is miserable spaghetti child a Quagmire triplet?” (Has there been another illustration of a [mostly] well-liked asoue character this entire time?? +a colourised one nonetheless!!)
It would make sense for a character shown on the cover to be plot-relevant rather than merely a nondescript background character… 🤔
I would fully invest my lifetime into building a theme park for ASOUE. It would be dark and sinister, with the gothic feeling of Brett Helquist’s drawings. You could climb up towers with Violet’s grappling hook, only to find bones waiting for you in Sunny’s cage. There would be adventure rides with unfortunate endings, and people who look suspiciously like Olaf’s troupe would walk around and mind their own business. Strangers would come up to you in the main plaza and talk to you in code, and there would be a Cafe Salmonella and The Anxious Clown restaurant for culinary needs. There would be the Fowl Fountain, and the Caligari Carnival, and the theater would have showings of the Marvelous Marriage. When it’s time for the themepark to close, everything would go on fire, in the shape of a giant eye.
