Rant incoming!
Tired of trying to chill on online and scrolling past posts that are like "Mizisua is fucked up and if you still enjoy it you are either too stupid to understand this or sick in the head!" (often UNDER the mizisua tag mind you- psa: if you post ship hate and you tag the ship you're hating on you are an asshole)
Like the for instance saying that we are romanticizing abuse and it isn't 'hooray toxic yuri' but 'horrifically codependent'... ?? these two sentiments are not mutually exclusive, if a yuri ship being 'horrifically codependent' isn't 'hooray toxic yuri' wtf is?
Trust me, I am well aware of literally everything that is wrong with them and that's why I love them. I'm not one of those people that gravitated towards mizisua because "this lesbian pairing is so innocent and healthy compared to how gross and problematic the gay and het pairings are!" Which is a bubble I am glad zomst has finally popped once and for all because it was SO ANNOYING to see people sanitizing my girls and ignoring the complexities of their dynamic and them as individual characters
I love mizisua sm as a sapphic because they are a sapphic pairing written by a sapphics that gets to be complicated and at times corrosively toxic- in a way that is in part largely informed by the misogyny and lesbophobia of their society (not to excuse their actions and the ways they have hurt each other ofc)
You can think I'm 'romanticizing abuse' but it's just like... come on 😑 it's not like I'm going to irl be looking for the mizi to my sua so I can lock her in my basement or whatever you think liking a fictional toxic relationship between two fictional women means about me
