A DIY job I’ll never do again
It’s another one of those projects I started during the lock-down, when the virus gave us little choice but to stay home and accomplish things.
If you happen to have an asphalt driveway and live in a cold-weather state, then you know that, a) the driveway will crack, and b) the freeze/thaw cycle will turn small cracks into big ones.
Normally, I hire somebody every couple of years to fill and seal the cracks. This year, with more time on my hands, I decided to give it a go myself.
Well, the “wait times” involved (you’re supposed to let the DIY filler cure 3-4 weeks before sealing it), plus the requirement for perfect stretches of weather for accomplishing the task, meant that the job dragged on until last week.
Although I learned a little about how to do it, the main thing I learned is that I don’t want to do it again, which I guess is also a valuable lesson.
