ÇARPINTI, BOLUM 1.
Asras. His mark and seal
Mohawk. One of many signers of this document representing Mohawk homelands that spread across areas known today as eastern New York State, parts of western Vermont and parts of southern Ontario and Quebec.
Asras is one of eight Mohawk leaders to sign this document, detailing the transfer of land at the site of Fort Hunter west of so-called Albany, New York. Fort Hunter was constructed several years prior to the 1714 date of this deed, built by colonizers at the mouth of the Schoharie Creek, on the Mohawk River. Asras and others sign with pictographs and identify themselves as representatives of “we the three Races or Tribes of the Mohaugs Indians the Turtle, Wolf & B[ea]r.”
Signed in “Mohaughs Cuntry” May 14, 1716. Seen at Chapin Special Collections Library, Williams College.
Title: I am ME!
I've been really down in the dumps lately so i decided to cheer myself up by drawing Ruca... only i half merged him with Asura/Asras.
while i was working on this i told myself not to worry about anatomy or making sure it’s perfect, because trying to make sure every little thing is correct more often then not actually stunts my growth as an artist. so please forgive any anatomy mistakes you see, i will eventually go back and fix them.
Have you grown so tired of stealing mortal souls that you hope to steal my victory instead?
