So I’m confused about the homophobia in RotE… in the very first book (Assassin’s Apprentice) Burrich is talking to Fitz about being lovesick (he was just depressed at the time or something) and he says something like “it doesn’t matter who you like girls or even boys” But in later books homophobia is the norm it seems. In Liveship Traders the homophobia was even worse. Ik Malta and Winthrow thought Althea was lesbian because she liked to wear comfortable clothing. Also Kyle calls Winthrow gay for wearing robes (really mf).

I’m wondering if that line was just Burrich being an ally. But when u think about it that doesn’t make much sense. Especially considering where he was born and where he grew up and he’s supposedly not queer himself. Idk these are just head empty thought
