What Ive taken away from Ballis’ work is the use of colour. I really like the use of the single colour scheme in a series of photographs. I think it creates a really cool overall effect. This is something that I will consider in my final design.

Referencing to the quote of Jasper Johns, ‘Do something, do something to that, and then do something to that!’, I have put together the edited photos together as a collage.
Assessment 3 - Final Work 3
Failure is more often than not related to pessimism, and hence in my final work I have decided to take a pessimistic approach towards the task. In my previous works I have expressed failure in the form of images and sound, and in this final work I chose to convey failure with a more direct approach through text. I searched through twitter for some tweets related to failure and realised there were more motivational and optimistic tweets than pessimistic once I could work with. Hence, I decided to deconstruct each of these tweets and recreate them into ones of negativity and the embodiment of failure, forming a short poem of a sort. I removed some of the words and rearranged the order, keeping the upper and lower cases in my recreation the same as it was in the original tweets, creating a sense of imbalance when looking at the finished text as a whole.
