Assessement3 Reflection Statement
The theme I explored for assessment 3, was editing. In our group's previous work in assessment 2, we used sound and text to create an interrogation of between an authorative figure and a victim. We have made it so that the evocative sound in demonstrating the original recording of the interview differs from the documentation of the interview in which we portrayed on the screen.
In this assessment, I wanted to expand on the idea of editing. I was inspired by Jasper Johns quote of, ‘Do something, do something to that, and then do something to that!’, from week 5 class of adad1001. I mainly worked on editing an image, using various methods. With the usage of Photoshop, I digitally worked on editing and adjusting the picture, trying different effects with lighting, exposure, contrast, hue, saturation, level, filter and layers to reinterpret the image giving different effect to its original. Also tried cropping ad resizing the images and duplicating and mix-matching them to create a pattern like image.
Later, I printed the image and physically edited them. By cutting out he images and separating them, I made a collage of images by sticking and assembling them together and recreating the original image out of the edited images. And through another process of taking picture of that, went through another process of editing and refining the image on Photoshop once again. I tried to explore many varieties of ways of editing of different types and transforming a single image and reinterpreting it to demonstrate diverse forms of it. I think my final work represents the concept of editing through experimentation I had taken, recreating the original image.
