For this class, you have the option to revise a previous paper for a higher grade (up to 10 points higher than the original grade). Please follow the guidelines below for this assignment:
Decide which paper you would like to revise. You can choose to revise either Writing Project 1 or Writing Project 2, but not both. Keep in mind that WP1 is worth 15% of your grade and WP2 is worth 20%.
Look back at the feedback I’ve given you, and significantly revise accordingly. This needs to be more than just correcting grammar mistakes or changing a sentence or two. This should be a considerable revision from your previous paper, and should show that you have reflected on these changes and why they are important.
After you’ve completed your revision, write a 400 word reflection discussing your revision process and addressing the following questions. Please include this reflection on a separate page at the beginning of your revised essay:
Summarize, in your own words, the feedback that I gave you on the original essay. What parts of your essay needed more work, and why?
Write a detailed account of the changes that you made, and how/why you made these decisions. Use specific examples, and go beyond just my feedback here. How has your paper changed as a whole from your first draft to the final revision?
How did you feel about the revision process? Are you more pleased with your final product? Why or why not?
What, if anything, did you learn through this revision process about yourself as a writer? What have you learned about your own process of writing and revising? Explain.
The last day to turn in an essay revision is Thursday April 28th, although you may submit it anytime before then as well. Please submit your revision as a Word document under the “Essay Revision” assignment (under the “Assignments” tab) on Blackboard.
