So at first I was upset that toews wasn't picked to be captain of team Canada

But then I realized this- do you know how many kids in Canada work their entire lives to make it to the NHL and to represent their country in the World Cup or Olympics. Jonathan Toews worked SO hard to get to the position that he is in right now. He's the captain of a three time Stanley cup team and an assistant captain of Olympic gold medal teams. There's SOO many AMAZING players in Canada that they can pick over him, but they chose him, Jonathan Toews, to assistant captain of the greatest hockey country in the world. That's such a huge honor. I'm so incredibly proud of him and realize that he has been given such a huge honor and opportunity to represent his country. He's an amazing player and I can't wait for him to show his country what he does.

Flames Annouce new Assistant Captain!

The Calgary Flames annouced today that Sean Monahan has been named an assistant Captain for the 2015-2016 season and onwards.

Monahan had 31G and 31A for his first 60pt season.

The Flames first game of the season is at home in the Dome at 7pm tomorrow evening!
