Venture Into A Forgotten Past @Assoflhant

The small meadow were the herbal plants grew were surrounded by a small forest, the deep-green leaves moved in the late summer breeze.  the sound of the flowing streams that crossed the meadow mixed with the birds song had a calming effect. The boy sat up more properly and stretched a bit before putting some plants in the woven wooden basket beside him. he looked at his hands for a moment, they were dirty from the mud in the stream were he got the plants. Because of the strong stalks on the plants it was hard to get a proper grip, but it was necessarily. "It has to be the whole plant, right? cutting it would only waste it." he said quietly to himself, remembering what his mother had told him. Medical plants was necessarily in a such small village, and the purple-haired young boy was more than willing to help his mother to gather the plants and ingredients needed. ... at least the one's he remembered how they looked like. He let out a small sigh as he turned to the water again to find more plants hiding there.

The sun was shining, a small breeze making its way through the lovely town of Lhant. It was warm, like usual, and the trees were robust and green with the life of summer. People were milling about, chatting happily; the town in its prosperous tranquility lay cheerily in the afternoon haze. Asbel, of course, could not see any of this through his office window. While the sunlight did reach his paperwork-painted desk, it was unable to penetrate the room's gloomful ambience. He was emanating boredom in waves, undoubtedly sending them beneath the doorcrack and into the rest of the manor. This boredom was induced by reading and signing paper after paper. Then, after one stack of papers was finished with, there were just more and more papers waiting. Asbel couldn't take it much longer. And yet, he knew if he slacked just one moment, all the work both he and his father had put into making Lhant a better place would fall apart. It had been a couple days since he'd slept in his bed, though, and he was willing to admit that he'd like to take just a small break to relax. He figured he should just finish it now, though, so he could relax later. Sighing, he put the pen down for an instant to give his wrist a well-deserved rest. Just then there was a quiet knock on the office door, and he looked up inquisitively, one hand wrapped gingerly around his wrist.

"Yes?" He called, wondering who it could possibly be.
