ooc; I have two headcanons for you all. The first one has to do with seiðr / magic & most of this headcanon comes from this fic right here; I don’t want to claim that I thought of it myself because I didn’t. The rest was inspired by this post.  The second headcanon has to do with Loki’s “twin” name. I personally feel weird giving Loki a nickname where the only reason it’s given is because of his URL. I feel like I need an ic reason for it. I’m posting it here so I don’t have to mention it in narrative with other Loki roleplayers & make them feel obligated to do the same. This is just my personal preference. <3

SEIÐR / MAGIC HEADCANON: I realized I needed to clarify this because of a thread with thunderhermaxur. All seiðr requires an understanding of physics & how to bend & twist it to the users whim. Without this understanding, even if a potential user has seiðr within his/her very veins, they can’t access it. Since Loki has never been seen speaking any words to access the majority of the seiðr we see him use, the ONLY time words need to be used are with an incredibly complicated & advanced spell ( & of course, that same understanding of physics. Without both of these, such advanced spells are  impossible ). The words that are used are in Old Norse language. Since the Marvel interpretation of these Norse characters is loosely based on the Norse Mythology, the Æsir & Vanir’s mother tongue is Old Norse. Lastly, much like Thor’s elemental seiðr ( which has to do with storms & lightening / electricity ), Loki is able to actually touch people with his seiðr; the raw essence of it in a visible form much like electricity. It doesn’t shock nor does it hurt when it makes contact with skin. It actually has a rather gentle touch.

“TWIN” NAME HEADCANON: Loki’s URL was created based on the fact that, in the Marvel Comics, Loki is described as the "contriver of all fraud", which basically means “creator of all falsehoods / lies / deceptions ect.” I’ve included this into the MCU timeline( s ) so it is something that he has heard himself called, something that he knows he’s called. My headcanon is that “Contriver” is a word that he began to  associate himself with & so, when he needed a nickname or an alias, that is what he would  use ( which means Loki is literally calling himself creator. The smug bastard. ). This headcanon is mainly for the other Loki’s I do roleplay with or that I’m going to roleplay with in the near future. 15. Biggest & smallest short term goal?I’d imagine his only goal right now short termwise would be to escape his confinement inAsgard. Although it’s certainly a larger cage,Loki does not like to be trapped ( in fact, beingtrapped in closed spaces is a fear ). It’s a lot worseif he’s trapped in a smaller space & being ableto astral project makes things tolerable; but he’sitching to escape.
