There's a wild sort of hubris in knowing the repercussions of using spells like Friends and Charm Person in D&D and thinking the worst that could happen in BG3 was losing a few points of approval.
It's ten (10), by the way. Ten points of approval and I'm sitting in the negatives. Astarion is dripping with disdain and I'm in shambles.
There won't even be an Astariomance in this playthrough because I've irrevocably OTP'd him with my ranger, Gælris, but I'm committed to a Gale/Karlach/Astarion run with my silly dragonborn bard, Softsyrr (affectionately nicknamed Softserve), and I don't think I can handle him hating them.
Even better (worse) is that I've given up control of so many conversations to the will of the many (see: my community) and I cannot guarantee the sanctity of his future approval.
Shambles.
On a positive note, Gale's approval of Softsyrr is so high that he was compelled to spill his Deep Secrets seconds after meeting Kagha—Time and Place being a foreign concept to him, apparently. We haven't even gotten to Karlach yet.

I can take it no longer I have a carnal NEED to see astarion in winter. all bundled up and shivering and miserable with his ears and nose all red.
astarion is such a pathetic little cat. like those little kittens you find in the bushes that hiss every time you try to pet it. hisses and spits and swats when you give it a bath but the fussy lil thing doesn't pose any real threat. flops down on your chest when they're clean and dry and fluffy and starts purring up a storm
