Aaaaah so my team AMBR are first years at Shade! They got dumpstered by a fancy Atlas team in the Vytal tournament due to teamwork issues but they gelled fighting in the Battle of Beacon! They came home to Vacuo to find much amiss in their own home...
Aster Lumens is a Bat Faunus (with big bat ears!) with black skin, short curly black hair and pink eyes. She wears a big cloth duster and goggles for the desert environs.
Aster's claim to fame is that she's a Dust Alchemist - one of the those rare few that combines Dust types to create new experimental sub-types. She wanders Vacuo in search of scraps of rare Dust from the old gutted mines and caves - her initial reason for joining Shade was purely for access to the catacombs beneath the Academy, where she hoped to discover new forms of Dust for her experiments.
In battle she uses Mourningstar, a lantern-mace combo that she can extend and use as a flail. She can swap in different Dust crystals to change the colors and effects of the light.
Aster is the reluctant leader of team AMBR, but as she grows into the role she's always willing to help her friends grow as well.
Maris Plum is whip-sharp and hardened as any in Vacuo - or at least, that's what she wants others to see. Maris is human, with bronze skin and a tight ponytail. She wears a purple kevlar-esque bodysuit to accommodate her weapon.
Maris grew up in a traveling circus as a rhythmic gymnast, and she brings her extreme athleticism to bear in all of her fights. She fled the circus when a Grimm attack decimated her troupe, and, horrified that her skills had not been enough to save all of her circus family, she enlisted at Shade to get stronger.
Maris fights with a rhythmic gymnast's baton and ribbon - with a twist. The baton is an unfletched arrow, a deadly spike, and the ribbon is razor wire, perfect for grappling and shredding Grimm or wearing down an opponent's Aura.
Maris struggles a lot with teamwork and friends, but she's warming up to team AMBR, and she's hungry to grow and get stronger.
Bianca is a proper cowboy from the Vacuo frontier. She's a human with white skin who wears white cowboy clothes with a green poncho (can you tell I'm not an artist akskdk). She got into a shootout with an Atlesian officer defending her town. She's attending Shade to lie low and protect her and her family from reprisal.
Bianca uses a huge revolver that can telescope out into a rifle. She also sports little golden mechanized buzzsaws for spurs that she uses if foes get inside her guard, but melee is always a last resort with her.
Bianca is a quiet and hardworking member of team AMBR, and she's slowly opening up to her team about her past.
Rowan is a brash and brilliant fighter who grew up on the seas East of Vacuo. She's a leopard seal Faunus with the fangs to prove it. She has brown skin and a garish undercut, and loves showing off her hard-earned muscles with a sleeveless crop top. Rowan grew up protecting her families fishing boats from Grimm and pirates, but when she wanted to go freelance, nobody would hire her without a Huntress liscense. So she goes to Shade, to back up her skills with the official credentials she needs.
Rowan fights with a pair of oblong shields strapped to her forearms that can extend into sharp points as needed. She's relentless and hardworking, and even the solitary Maris often finds solace in sparring with her.
Rowan is deeply protective of her friends, and fills her role with a confidence as wide and deep as the ocean.
