Cactusverse Aura Guardians List
So a while ago I made a post about the aura powers in Cactusverse and I said I would eventually make a list of all the major canon and OC characters who have aura powers. Now keep in mind as I said in the original post (you can view that here), aura is more common in cactusverse because it's a natural adaptation to allow humans to survive in the Pokemon world. First off I'll start with the full-fledged aura guardians: the people who have the full set of aura powers through training. Even though they have all of the powers, they each still specialize for one of their powers (again check the original list for a rundown of the powers) Riley: this is a given because he's pretty much confirmed to be one in actual canon. His specialty is aura projection. Red: Red accidentally became an aura guardian while on Mt. Silver. So he's one of the only ones on the full-fledged aura guardian list who wasn't formally trained, but honestly, this adds to his living legend status. Red's specialty is empathy. Blue Oak: Had to be sent to Kalos to be formally trained after his loss to Red on the Indigo Plateau or else his powers would've hurt him or someone else. His specialty is aura tracking. Leaf: Leaf was the last of the Kanto Trio to become an aura guardian. She ended up training under Riley when she spent time traveling in Sinnoh. Her specialty is aura reading. Lance: as part of the Blackthorn Clan tradition, any member who shows aura powers has to become an aura guardian. This was a part of a longstanding tradition that allowed the clan to enjoy the high status in Johto society that they've had for centuries. His specialty is empathy (yeah a lot like his Pokespe counterpart but not evil). Wallace: much like Lance, the Sootopolitans also have a mandate that any member who shows aura powers has to become an aura guardian. His specialty is aura reading. Aster: once again, like the Blackthorns and Sootopolitans, the Draconid Lorekeeper has to become a full-fledged aura guardian in order to actually hold the title of Lorekeeper. Her specialty is aura projection. Zinnia: same thing as Aster, but also like Red in that's she's not formally trained but rather self-taught to try to expedite things in times for the impending meteor. Her specialty is aura boost. Alder: After his initial partner died and he went on that soul-searching journey he ended up training briefly with a now-deceased aura guardian in Unova. His specialty is Aura tracking. N: N's aura powers were unfortunately intentionally cultivated by Ghetsis as Ghetsis felt like a person with aura powers AND a connection to the legendary dragon would be enough of an intimidating presence to convince the Unovans to give up their Pokemon without a struggle. His specialty is empathy. Jabari (OC): The whole reason Jabari ended up in Kalos (and eventually Kalos champion) was that his parents wanted to cultivate his aura powers. This of course leads to a long-standing rivalry between him and Blue. His specialty is aura reading. Hala: Any kahuna has to become an aura guardian (hence why Alola is in the modern-day one of the few regions that still has a functioning aura society that isn't gatekept by certain families). Hala's specialty is empathy. Olivia: Her specialty is aura reading. Nanu: His specialty is aura tracking. Hapu: Her specialty is aura sense. Lillie: When Lillie leaves out for her Pokemon journey she decides to hone her powers because she realized that unlike what Lusamine told her, her empathy and healing were not evidence of being a weak person but hidden strength. She ends up running into Leaf during her journeys and Leaf is the one who trains her. Her specialty is aura healing. Mustard: Once he was free from his title of Galar champion and he could do some soul searching Mustard trained with Opal to fully understand and control his powers. Part of his dojo's mission is secretly helping Galarians with aura powers who don't come from the nobility (who are not keen on sharing their techniques with the peasants). His specialty is aura sense. Opal: Opal comes from one of the few families in Galar who have a history of aura powers that aren't connected to the nobility. Her specialty is aura boost. Jack (OC): Jack coming from the most infamous aura guardian family in the world, it was a given that he would have been trained by his family to carry on the dubious legacy. His specialty is shadowification and purification (although he vastly prefers using his shadowifcation technique). Hop: While both he and Leon have aura powers, Leon never pursued a full aura guardian training (even though Mustard wanted him to). Hop however takes some time to train with Mustard after the Royal Twin shenanigans. His specialty is empathy. I’ll do a list of the aura users soon (the ones who just have one or two powers and haven’t actively pursued trying to learn everything). This post would just be way too long if I included everyone
Messing around with line art and sketches, anyways Zinnia! love how much of an absolute menace she is :)
