You could ask why Asterix x Mario?

Well I have both as a childhood, playing Mario fames and warching the Asterix Animated Movies ( especially the one with Cleopatra, she slayed there like a true queen )in my local german tv channel.

Plus I sometimes see both of them in a german mall near the cashier.

A Alternative ship name would be FireStar.

Marios name come from Mars, which is in japan the fire star and his Roman or Greek God is Ares or Mars. Asterixs name means Star and Mario collects stars or protect the stars.

Amd shipping a mustachious short king with another mustachious short king would be cute.

Mario would however be the Goku to Asterixs Chichi. Basically a innocent warrior dumb like bread with a raging warrior husband.
