The rest of PeatClan! Fadedfall and Smokeyhowl are Parsleykit's parents, and Asterkit is her brother! Cranenose was Butterflydust's mentor when he was alive. We've already met Hemlockstar, and Mousefur and Blizzardsky are new to us but were the other two warriors in the clan at the time. Mousefur is Cranenose's kid, and Blizzardsky is Fadedfall's aunt if I remember correctly? Hemlockstar was the half-sister of Butterfly's mom, so she's Butterfly's aunt! Feel free to ask lore questions, none of these guys are relevant to the main story but I came up with lore/personality for most of them :)

Apologies for being gone for so long, I haven't worked on this comic in a hot minute because my second laptop, that I got after the previous one died a little over a year ago and destroyed my clangen file for this run, also destroyed all the csp files for this comic (and technically also ADS, but that comic is completed and I had no intention of touching it again so it's whatever) So literally the only copies I have are the png files of the completed pages I uploaded to DeviantArt's stash for the fridge. What does this mean for the comic? No clue. I haven't really had any motivation to work on it (or anything really) since this summer. I'll gradually upload the completed pages when I remember to do so.

Redsmoke tells the kits the tales about the old Chimera Defenders— No one thinks much of his stories of long forgotten ‘fairy tales’, though it is curious how… immersive his stories are.

I touched on the idea of those with the blessing of the Chimera but I’ve fleshed it out more!

The Chimera Defenders were warriors blessed with immense strength and power. They were the perfect warrior— strong, capable, steadfast and filled with seemingly endless stamina. It was quite easy to spot one with the Chimera’s blessing: Large, sharp saber fangs, poisonous quill like spines or large monstrous paws with claws to match. They are easily 2-3x the size of an average warrior.

They were invaluable in protecting the clans from large threats from dire wolves to mountain lions, and in some rare cases, even bears. The flip side of such might, was their uncontrollable emotions. Often, once a fight with a defender began, it took every might of the defender to exit their bloodlust. It is not a reflection of any said defender’s character for them to lose control—it is the curse that comes with such immense power. Because of this tendency, every Chimera Defender is paired with their own mediator—a cat who is close and comfortable with the defender and exudes a calming energy. They help bring the defender’s down from their rage and ground them back to reality. These cats are often paired the moment a defender’s blessing presents. It isn’t uncommon for defender’s mediators to be close family or even lovers in some case— the role of the mediator requires deep trust after all!

I'VE BEEN SO HYPED TO DRAW AND SHOW THIS PAGE SINCE THIS HAPPENED IN GAME! Everyone meet the first litter in Duckclan, Antwish's! To continue to leave Ant's AGAB a mystery, I will not state if they were the pregnant one or not, but I will say that her partner is still a Ridgeclan cat, but by the time the two finally came to terms with the fact that they could no longer continue their relationship, the one who carried the kits was already pregnant.

Also a disclaimer: Shimmer and Ant are NOT a thing! He just cares about her very much and wanted to make sure she was okay [that and on the same moon the kits were born, it was said that Shimmer was seen talking to a Ridgeclan cat, so I take that to mean Ant's now-ex partner was asking Shimmer to help take care of the kits.

Aster is the tortie, Pod is the barely seen one, and Scorch has the mask!

Pikestar and Petaleye died when Asterkit was two moons away from his apprenticeship, and Lynxfang began to take care of him after seeing the opportunity to become leader through the influence and support of who the clan would see as the rightful next in line. I decided to draw Lynxfang and Asterkit when Asterkit was younger than that though, because the idea of Asterkit being up to no good and getting gently carried around by the deadliest and most bloodthirsty cat in camp was so funny to me.
