Hallo! Was curious to know- what was the original inspiration for Astral Arc? Was always curious how her story would have unfolded!
Oh hey! Been a while since I've had any questions about the ol' blogs, always happy to answer!
Astral Arc was a bit of a unique situation since it was a collaboration with a friend of mine! Astral was actually my friend's character in a MLP rpg I was running at the time, but fizzled out as such things tend to do (even moreso since it was play-by-post), so we decided to collaborate on her story in blog form instead! She had actually written the script for the next section of updates, but I was waiting on some responses for some of the visual aspects, like background layouts (the next bit was going to be back at her apartment).
Astral was imagined as an assistant to Starswirl back in the day, based off the line about him "not understanding friendship", before he ever showed up in the show. She had ended up being the subject of one of his time-magic tests, and thrown across the timeline, always forgotten by anyone whenever she jumped: Starswirl had taken credit for some of her own accomplishments, and other accomplishments of hers had been lost to time (such as her radio technology)
The story would have followed her getting to know the rest of the cast and get better at letting people get close and making friends (which was hard for her between the way Starswirl was, and fearing she'd just lose them again anyways not knowing if she'd be sticking around in this time) , with segments based around the radio show they were running.
I'd have to look back at some of our old conversations to see how much more detail we had, I think it had mostly just gotten started though!
